Finding an entertainer that could entertain both adults and kids is not a very easy job to do. No matter what kind of entertainer you are looking for a magician, a clown, a cartoon mascot, or a puppeteer, it has to be the best. There are a few tips and tricks to follow before you hire an entertainer and those can save you from falling into any pitfall that spoils your party.
The best way to start is to know what kind of entertainer are you looking for or what does your child want. Say for example you are hiring a cartoon mascot; it may or may not get a little scary for a child if it is there the first time, so for maintaining a comfort level, show them the picture or give them a heads up. This way the kid won’t be too anxious at their first with the mascot and also will have fun around them instead.
Try to find a mascot your child is going to love. There has to be some cartoon character they already love, make sure you try your best to find that character for them. If the mascot is too huge, chances are it is going to scare the kids away, so aim for a medium sized mascot who can play around with the kids without scaring them away. Also, a mascot would need an assistant around them to take care of the kids and engage them in the activities because the mascot will only be able to do so much with that costume on.

If you want the mascot to give you a memorable event make sure you take care of certain things beforehand and also while the play is on like;
Location: it is best to keep the mascot outside, so preferably keep the event location outdoors. It will give ample space to the entertainer and the kids both. It’ll be difficult for a mascot to fit them inside and also chances are they might end up damaging something or the other due to their heavy costumes. Party lawns can be the ideal place to do the event at.
Noise: its, not the kids that are going to be a mess in the party, it is the parents that tag along with them. Try and keep the parents out of the entertainment area to avoid consistent chatter because after all the focus is on the kids, it’s their party.
Regular Distractions: there is no need for loud music, the mascot is going to take care of all the responsibility of entertaining the kids and even if you choose to have music, don’t play it on the level of disturbance. Keep the toys and extra stuff out of the way too, you don’t want the kids to get busy with the toys and forget all about the mascot. Make sure your mascot has eaten properly before he starts to entertain because there is no way the kids are going to let him go later.

And last but not the least clarify everything with the entertainer, ask them if they need any kind of help or anything else, is there any furniture that they would require to conduct the activities, if yes, provide them with that. Keep all these points in your head and then go ahead with booking your mascot; the task would be much easier for you.
